Tolubai synchy / kyrgyz legend

According to popular legends, Tolubai lived between the 14th and 15th century, at the time of the very severe King .

Tolubai was a "syntchy" thinker, he was an expert on selecting horses.
He was known for his ability to recognize the qualities of animals, especially of horses. He recognized at a glance which could become an excellent steed. These fast and enduring horses were very sought after and mythology represented them winged. These exceptional animals were called "Toulpar".
People knew Tolubai syntchy as a clairvoyant, eloquent and wise personality; calling the people to friendship. But he did not obey anyone, not even the King!

Once upon a time there was a king who ruled over his country. Before launching a great campaign, he made an announcement:

"Whoever finds a toulpar among the horses of the kingdom will have everything he wants, if he is fails, I will gouge out his eyes.", but because of the severity of their king, no synchy of the region came to the King.

One day, when the king's servants came back in vain after searching for a synchy in many villages, they saw the old Tolubai at the bottom of a rock, crying in front of a horse dry skull:
"Who knows that you were toulpar, who knows that I am syntchy?"

The servants brought old man to the king and told him what they had heard.

King made him an offer:
"If you are a real syntchy, find me a toulpar among my horses, but if you fail, I will gouge out your eyes.

Next day, to examine horses, Tolubai and the king climbed on a large tower. For three days the best steeds of the country passed in front of them, but none of them pleased Tolubai synchy.
The last horses being the king's steeds covered by a silk rug, the king asked syntchy:
"My syntchy, what would you say about these ones? "
Shaking his head, synchy replied:
"There is no toulpar".

All the horses had passed in front of the old synchy, who did not appreciate their qualities. No surprise that the king became angry.
"Is there still a horse left?" He yelled.
The servants of the king replied:
"There is a poor man with a bad chaar."
The king ordered:

"Bring this horse here right away!"

The best horsemen of the kingdom, brought the bad horse. With forty wounds on his back, the horse walked with pain.
Nevertheless, as soon as he saw him, the synchy Tolubai immediately shouted:
"My King, here is the toulpar! ".
The king could not believe his ears. Upset and angry, he ordered:
"Pierce the eyes of the ignorant laughing at me!"

The king's guards blew his eyes and Tolubai, putting his hands over his eyes, asked the king:

"My King, this is your order, but to pay the trouble of my eyes, give me this bad chaar."
The king, without even looking at the old man, made a gesture ordering to give him the horse.

Tolubai brought the bad chaar to his house and fed him for forty-one days under the earth. The food was measured, the water given according to the weather.
On the forty-first day, the chaar was cured and became already vigorous. Old Tolubai put his wife on the horse, mounted himself behind, and they went out.

During this walk with his wife they met the king who blocked their way with his horse. Tolubai said to him:
"My King, if you are real genuine rider, try to catch this bad chaar!".
And he let go the bridle of the chaar, which left galloping.
The king, unable to bear this offense, went on and pursued him with his numerous entourage. But even immediately, the king's horses were quickly sown by the spotted chaar, which was rushed like an arrow.
Tolubai could not remember riding such a fast and enduring horse and he continued his way without worrying about the king's rage.

At the end of their first day of travel, Tolubai and his wife heard a horse approaching.

"How is that horse?" The old man asked his wife.
"It appears that it is the horse Tentek Kara," she replied.
Then Tolubai replied:
"May God take him back, he seems to have a weak head, go ahead to the sun."
As soon as his wife led the horse to the sun, Tentek Kara lowered his ears, closed his eyes, and drew back quickly to stay in the shade.

Two days later, once again, a horse's hooves was heard. Tolubai immediately asked:
"Who is this one?" ".
His wife replied:
"It seems that it is horse Uzun Kashka."
"May God take him back, he seems to have weak hoofs, go and check on gravel!" He said.

As he had predicted, after a few steps, Uzun Kashka was unable to continue on the stony ground.

After three days of traveling, the old man and his wife heard an exceptional noise of a horse. Tolubai asked,
"Who is this one?" ".
His wife replied:
"It seems that it is horse Karager."
Karager was a real toulpar well known in the kingdom. He was only seven years old. He had no visible defaults, but he could not stand praise. It seemed that everything was fine with this horse, but the compliments are his weak side.
"Let him go straight ahead, I will cover him with praise," said Tolubai to his wife.
She did not tell that this toulpar was the king's official horse and Tolubai did not know that he was on his back!
As soon as she turned the head of the horse, Tolubai said:
"O my animal, how can a man be born like you, how beautiful you are, how magnificent you are! Fast as the light, Païe-païe-païe ".
Telkyzyl refused to go forward, and reared up, despite of the king's orders to go forward.
As soon as Tolubai recognized him, he said:
"My King, you could not appreciate when I found a toulpar without any flaws. How can you know the qualities of a syntchy and those of a toulpar? The fault is yours, grace is with the people. "

It was said that Tolubai went around the Earth with his chaar before disappearing with him into the sea.
